What the Doc said

The appointment with Doctor Hoberman went well this morning. She looked at the incisions and said everything is healing up nicely. She gave me some exercises to do to keep the circulation moving and rebuild strength. There wasn't a whole lot of new information from the pathology report. She did inform us that there were definitely two different tumors and based on size and cell activity, both are considered stage 1 cancer, not the stage zero we were hearing before. She expressed how thankful she was, and we all should be, that there was no cancer in the lymph nodes. As far as treatment goes, we wait until the appointment with the oncologist which is next week Tuesday.

I enjoyed today. I spent most of it sitting on the couch with three pillows, two blankets and lots of good reading material. My throat is feeling better, but I am certainly running low on energy. With the scripture verses many of you have sent me, devotion books, and the power of prayer, I feel at peace. Tonight I leave you with this verse from Psalm 31:

I trust in you, O Lord;
I say "You are my God."
My times are in your hands.

Robin

  3. Happy to hear those lymph nodes decided to skip the party! Your connection to Doc Amy is that you teach with Chris Gordon's daughter. Be a name dropper - it works around there :)
    Miss you!

  4. Hey, Robin, as usual, you are lifted in prayer. If you need anything that is not being sent from Hamilton El. please let me know! I'd love to help if I can. And yeah, take Sikma's advice. She's got some friends in low places....ahem, I mean high places. :)

  5. Continued peace, rest and strength is what I pray you'll have. Let me know if those exercises help firm things up as well as improve your circulation! Stay strong!

  10. Hi, Robin. You probably don't remember me; I used to go to Calvary before we moved 3 years ago. I just read through your blog and saw your post about the verses/bookmarks. I happened to send one to the very friend you met a couple of weeks ago after school who shares your fight. I just thought I'd pass it along to you, too, in case you didn't have it yet:

    You do not have to fight this battle. Position yoursel[f], stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. He is with you. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17.

    Blessings,

  12. Hi Robin!

    I'm missing you! The hall just doesn't seem the same without your chuckles. Hopefully, that will be remedied soon so don't get too used to laying around !!!! I loved the news about your nodes and remember to behave around the drs. Praying for you all! Lynn
